…why not?
Heart Eyes comics.
…why not?
It’s been a long time since I have had the energy to make comics. A lot of things have happened (pandemic being in the mix). Now I’m back to studying historical views of the human body and health and sometimes making drawings about them. I am fascinated by the Four Humours concept, which dominated Western human history for a very long time. I plan to make comics about each humour and what they are linked to. A ‘humour’ in this case is a bodily fluid! Mmmm!
I made this drawing after a woodcut from Physiognomische Fragmente zur Beförderung der Menschenkenntnis und Menschenliebe (1775-1778) by Johann Kaspar Lavater (original image posted below for reference).
I’m in a very busy period right now and crossing my fingers that this isn’t me in the coming weeks. Throwback comic from 2016, still so very real. #chronicillness #autobiocomics #graphicmedicine #heatingpadlife
Once upon a time, my sweetie came across a painting by Toulouse Lautrec that looked uncannily like us. It’s called In Bed: The Kiss. I made this poem/comic version while A. was away for a while and I was missing her.
Happy holidays to you, from this loose collection of microscopic organisms. (Drawing made on a piece of card stock printed with realistic-looking candies, which was inside a package of reusable snack bags made to look like hungry panda heads, a gift from my sweetie on Crimmas) #holidays #candy #comix #autobiocomics #comics #bacteria #parasites #fungi #hostesswiththemostest #photorealism #baddrawing #identity #chronicillness #chronicillnessawareness
Sick-Bits, Volume One! I was reading the Oxford English Dictionary entry for 'sick' (as you would), and thought I'd make some comics out of some of the more interesting bits from this lengthy entry...(as you would).
